License Agreement

Effective date: March 15, 2026

This License Agreement (“Agreement”) governs the terms under which Trapalanda LLC (“Kiban”) grants you the right to use the Kiban Business Operating System software. By purchasing a license, you accept and agree to this Agreement.

The Perpetual License Model

Kiban uses a perpetual license model inspired by JetBrains and similar developer tool companies. Here is how it works:

  1. You buy a license and receive access to the current version of Kiban BOS plus all updates released during the subsequent 12 months (the “active update period”).
  2. After 12 months, your update subscription expires. You stop receiving new versions, but you permanently retain the right to use the last version you received. That version is yours forever.
  3. To continue receiving updates, renew your license at a discounted renewal price (typically 40–50% of the original license price).

This model means you are never forced to upgrade. If you are happy with the version you have, you can keep using it in production indefinitely with no ongoing fees.

1. License Tiers

Basic$9 / month1 projectUAPS only
Pro$29 / monthUnlimited projectsUAPS + PREM + GREM
Enterprise$99 / monthUnlimited projectsAll modules (UAPS + PREM + GREM + SAGE)

All tiers include the perpetual license model. Subscription pricing is for the update period. You may cancel and retain your last version at any time.

2. Single Project vs. Unlimited Projects

A Basic license permits use in one (1) production application. A production application is defined as a distinct web service or application deployed under a unique domain, serving end users.

Pro and Enterprise licenses permit use in an unlimited number of production applications owned or operated by the license holder. An agency or freelancer using a Pro license may deploy Kiban BOS for their own projects but not for client projects unless those clients each hold their own license.

3. What You Can and Cannot Do

Permitted

  • Use in unlimited client projects (Pro and Enterprise tiers)
  • Deploy to production on your own infrastructure (self-hosted)
  • Modify source code for your own project's requirements
  • Keep and use the last licensed version after your update period ends
  • Use in SaaS applications you build and sell
  • Share your built application with end users

Not permitted

  • Resell or redistribute the Kiban BOS source code as a standalone product
  • Create a developer tool, template, or starter kit based on Kiban BOS for commercial distribution
  • White-label Kiban BOS under your own brand without an Enterprise license addendum
  • Transfer your license to another individual or company without written consent
  • Use on more projects than your license tier permits

4. White-Label Rights

The Enterprise license does not automatically include white-label rights. White-labeling — removing Kiban branding, reselling the software under your own name, or providing it as a managed service to clients — requires a separate White-Label Addendum to this Agreement.

To inquire about white-label licensing, contact licenses@kiban.dev.

5. Termination

This Agreement terminates automatically if you breach any of its terms. Upon termination for breach, you must cease all use of the software and destroy all copies in your possession.

Termination due to non-renewal (expiry of the update subscription) does not terminate your perpetual rights to the last licensed version — only your right to receive future updates.
